Food: TGI Fridays

Bubblegum daiquiri

Scorpion Wings

Pork belly and 'slaw

Are you looking for somewhere to go this Easter weekend? TGI Friday's is where it's at. In there it's always Friday, which means you're always going to have fun. Mike and I recently popped out for a meal there as we haven't had a meal out together in a while. Mike was driving, so he stuck to cola, but I was free to try the cocktails. One cocktail in particular being the Bubblegum Daiquiri. If you're a fan of sweet drinks that basically taste like juice and not the hard taste of alcohol then this drink is for you. With its pastel pink colour and the popping candy around the rim, what's not to like? I got a regular size first, but I liked it so much that I treated myself to the larger size which is what you see above.
For starters Mike chose the Scorpion wings. He's sort of immune to spicy foods and they just don't affect him, but he did say that these had a "kick", and were "pretty good". When I asked him to elaborate he simply said "pretty very good". So that's his review.
I went for the Pork belly with apple 'slaw. The pork was cooked to perfection and literally melted in my mouth, not to mention the apple 'slaw which was deliciously creamy and paired so well with the pork. I could have ate that all night.
For mains Mike wanted the Tomahawk which is a massive 30oz steak, but sadly they were all out as they'd done a competition earlier on in the day, so he settled for ribs and JD sauce. I've had the ribs before so I can testify to Mike's 'review' that they were "really good". Guys have such a way with words don't they?
I went for the steak, chicken and shrimp plate which comes with chips in a little frying basket and some seasonal vegetables. At this point I was already two cocktails down so was feeling the strain on my jeans but I powered on. The steak was cooked to a medium rare perfection which sort of made me wish that the 30oz steak was available because I'm guessing I would have loved it. The chicken and shrimp paired very well with the sauce - which I want to get a tub of by the way.
We were both too full for dessert which is very rare for me. I usually just eat and eat as I never really feel full, but TGI Fridays managed to make me feel full for once.

If you're looking for a place for Easter weekend then I recommend TGI Fridays. It's great as a date night, meal with the girls or guys, a place for family or even a place that you could take your in-laws. And what's more is that they are running an Easter competition where you could win a years supply of Cadbury's chocolate eggs! Yes you just read that correctly, you're favourite type of chocolate could be yours all year round. Their #ShowMeTheBunny competition is simple enough, just snap a picture of you with the bunny mask on and upload it to social media.
There's also one for the children - an Easter egg hunt around the restaurant, and they could also win a years supply of chocolate eggs (which I'm sure they would share with you...)
I told William about the Easter Egg hunt and he told me that we have to go because he's "the best finder ever" and would most definitely win.

  1. The look of those Scorpion Wings already had my eyes watering. I want to love spicy things but the eyes start welling up and sniffles like a good'un whenever I attempt anything mildly spicy!

I really need to find where the nearest TGI Fridays is to me!
