Lifestyle: What I'm giving up for Lent

Lent is the countdown to Easter, starting on Ash Wednesday and finishing on the Thursday before Good Friday. Traditionally Christians would fast for 40 days and nights although that's more rare these days. People usually give something up instead.

Every year I try to give up something new for Lent. Usually it's chocolate or something but I fail within the first week. One year I gave up meat and carried that on for a whole year, so I know that I can do it if I try. I doubt I can have that much restraint again but I have decided to give up foods such as biscuits, cakes, bread, pasta and potatoes. If you know me then you'll know that this is all I ever eat and so this will be a challenge for me. I'm hoping I can make it the 40 days at least. As well as giving up my favourite foods I am also giving up spending. So thats a spending ban and giving up my favourite foods? Am I mad? Maybe.

    1. haha I think I am mad! I'm eating meat, veg, fruit and grains. The bit I'm finding he hardest is snacks as I used to snack a LOT

  3. Fantastic post. I've decided to cut down my spending habits for Lent - not purchasing sweets, junk food or beauty products.
