Beauty: Monthly Favourites #11

Beauty Favourites
Bourjois Liner Effect mascara is the mascara I've been wearing the most lately. Its such a good day time mascara and requires little effort to lengthen lashes. The bonus to this is that it also gives the illusion that you're wearing eyeliner too so you don't have to worry about adding in that part of your make up routine.
Underneath my mascara I've been loving Benefit They're Real Tinted mascara primer which was a freebie in Elle magazine. I recently wrote a review here. There have been days when I've worn this on its own too as its so light and easy to wear - not at all heavy like some mascaras can be.
I've been wearing a mixture of nude coloured lip shades this month as I haven't really ventured out anywhere. I've paired my lipstick shades with MAC Lip Pencil in Boldly Bare overtime as I think that this is such an easy nude lip pencil to work with. It lines the lips perfectly to prevent any fall from lipsticks or lip glosses, and lasts just as long if not longer sometimes than the lipstick I'm wearing that day.
I seem to contour  lot more than I highlight and I wanted to change this. This month I've added Benefit Watt's Up! highlighter to my make up bag in an effort to improve my skills. Now I'm not saying that I'm an expert at highlighting/contouring but this little product does make it a lot easier to grasp. The colour is a beautiful champagne glow which I think would suit most skin colours. I've actually had a few comments from people saying my face has a nice glow to it since wearing this so I think I'm going to continue wearing it! I find it a lot easier to apply than powders too, and it's so much easier to blend.
I've been lacking in the foundation section of my make up routine as I haven't really had anywhere to go that would justify wearing more cover up than concealer/ my skin tone was still too dark from my holiday in June. I decided that I would fetch out my old favourite high street foundation which is Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude foundation. It's liquid foundation heaven. I find the application so easy as it blends effortlessly and lasts all day, even without placing a powder on top.

  1. I love Benefit Watt's Up too and it has been a firm favourite of mine for a while now :) I also really like the Topshop highlighters and think they give such a lovely, natural glow x

  2. The Maybelline Dream Flawless is such a good base, it lasts a really long time on me too. I am so pleased I bought it. I do wish it had a pump but thats my only gripe.
