Liverpool is known for The Docks, the nightlife, The Beetles, the shopping, and museums but for someone who's lived here for years, those spots can become a little boring. I've been to all the usual hot spots of the city and today I thought I'd talk about one of my favourite hidden gems.
East Avenue Bakehouse is one of the many eateries on Bold Street, but easily my favourite. It's an independent cafe that uses locally produced and seasonal ingredients, so there will be something new every season.
I first discovered this cafe whilst I skipped a lecture in university last year in favour of going shopping with my sister (don't skip university though kids). We were walking down Bold Street looking for somewhere to have breakfast and spotted this place.
We both ordered scrambled eggs on toast and our lives changed forever. Seriously guys they were hands down the best scrambled eggs either of us have ever had. And thats the reason why we've both always gone back when we take a trip into the city.
East Avenue Bakehouse is situated at the top of Bold Street, right opposite the Tesco Express. It does get busy at weekends and evenings so it's best to call ahead and reserve a table. I like going in the morning so I can get my scrambled eggs, but the evenings are just as nice there. They serve steak, partridge, salads etc in the evenings which are delicious and would make a great date night out.

When you're travelling to a new city it's always nice to find hidden gems that are off the beaten track or wouldn't usually be talked about. Whenever I travel anywhere, be it in England or on holiday, I always try to find spots that aren't necessarily main attractions. Try somewhere new, you might surprise yourself!
Have you been to Liverpool before? What's your favourite place?
