Beauty: Nars and Essence

Everyone loves red lipstick, right? It's just so classic and timeless. Well what about the ombre lip trend? I've never been good at following beauty trends, and this one sort of happened by accident.
So one morning it was dark as I was getting ready. I picked up what I thought were two matching lip colours and applied. It wasn't until I was in proper light that I notice they didn't quiet match. they did however make this sort of slight ombre look to the lips.
Its subtle, which is how I like things. I'm not too good with in-your-face looks as I just don't think I can pull them off. Kudos to those who can.

Now I don't mean to brag here or show off but most of my make up would be from boutiques and high end brands. I don't know why (or how) that is as I never have money to start with, let alone buy make up. I think thats why over the years I've invested in more and more high street brands.
Essence are a brand that are relatively new to the UK and a brand that I want to invest more into. I'm not really into 'dupe' brands like Make Up Revolution (although I do have one of their eyeshadow palettes, it's just not the same as an original), but Essence have something more to offer. I found them in Superdrug but I believe that they are also available in Wilko.

This lipliner is 'Red Blush' and I think that it goes nicely with Nars Red Lizard to create this sort of ombre look (would you even say its ombre?). I feel like it's the sort of thing that would be well worn at Christmas time in the office, or even at parties. It is long lasting, even after drinking several cups of tea to keep you warm (which, lets face it, we do year round in Britain). It's not drying on your lips and makes a classic look stand out a little bit more.
