Beauty: Dark Blue Nails

Beauty Dark Blue Nails

Avon Speed Dry+, Models Own, Essie

UK Beauty Blogger

Blue nails are my absolute favourite colour to wear. I just find them so wearable and easy to match with outfits.
My favourite dark blue colours for the colder months are these three: Avon Speed Dry+ in Twilight Blue, Models Own in Betty Blue, and Essie in Aruba Blue. The swatches above are two coats each which is what I'd typically wear on my nails.

Lets start with Avon. This is the darkest blue I own, it's almost black it's that dark. It's a good colour I find for evening/night looks, or as an alternative to black. As it's a Speed Dry+ nail varnish it does dry really quickly, which I really like about it. I hate having to wait around for nail varnish to dry as theres always something that I need to do... like go to the bathroom.

Models Own Betty Blue was in a multipack I bought from River Island a while ago. I tend to wear this in the autumn rather than winter as I feel it's a bit 'happier' than my other colours. I realise that probably makes no sense, but to me the name Betty Blue sounds like a happy young lady and for that reason I wear it when the sun is still shining mid afternoon.

This last nail varnish is my most used, favourite nail varnish ever. I've gone through god knows how many bottles of it. It's a navy blue with a shiny glitter element to it. I wear this year round and always get compliments when I wear it. It's also the nail varnish colour that I'm wearing in the picture above.

What's your favourite dark colours? Have you tried any of these?

  1. Betty Blue is a really gorgeous colour!

  2. I'm a big fan of dark blue nail polishes too and reading this has reminded me how badly I need to get some more in my collection as mine is a little too purple toned. I like the look of the Essie one the best I think :)

  3. Lovely shades, I think the Model's Own is my perfect shade!
