Beauty: Empties #3

'Empties' posts, or posts where you show off all the empty products that you have, are the type of posts that I write the least. Whenever I finish a product, I usually throw it out straight away or hoard it and end up losing it, only to find it months later and wonder why I've still got it lying around

I can never seem to finish products around the same time either so I end up having a small collection of 'rubbish' that's just lying around waiting until they can be photographed together. Mike sometimes gets annoyed with this as it is basically just rubbish that I haven't thrown out yet.

"But it's for the blog!"

I can finally throw these products away now that I've blogged about them. That should cheer Mike up.
So what have I used up recently (and by recently I mean over the past 3 months or so):

Tresemme Platinum Strength shampoo and conditioner worked wonders when I had bleach blonde hair. I'd go a few washes where I didn't use this combo and my hair would be so brittle and weak, then I'd go back to this and my hair was better again. Now that I'm back to my original hair colour I don't damage them as much so my hair is getting stronger on it's own. I do believe that this combo helped, but I wouldn't repurchase them again unless I started to colour my hair again.

Richard Ward Keratin Restore shampoo and conditioner* is a combination of S&C where I actually used up the conditioner at the same time as the shampoo! While I did like this combination, I felt that my hair needed washing a lot quicker than it normally would. It's not so bad with short hair as I washed it quite a lot, but longer hair takes so long to dry in comparison so I don't wash it as much anymore. However if I used this with longer hair then I'd feel like I would have to wash my hair all the time, and I just don't have the time or energy to do that.

H'suan Wen Hua* (don't ask me how to pronounce that) is a product from Lush that I was matched up to when I had blonde hair. I worked wonders on my hair and really brought some life bak into it. I left this mask in for about 15-20 minutes while I was running my bath and making cups of tea and it left my hair really manageable and nourished right from the roots to the tips. Aside from the strong scent (sort of cinnamon?) I loved it.

As well as the Lush hair mask, I've used up the Lee Stafford treatment. I have tried a few of the LS treatments, and I think this one is the best. It rebuilds the hair and repairs damage caused by heat and chemicals (which is perfect if you dye your hair and/or use heat on it). My hair used to be bleach blonde which reallyyyyy damaged my hair, and this stuff worked wonders to make it strong enough for me to dye it dark again.

Coming away from hair products, I've used up a few bottles of the Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan mousse. I bought this from Primark, but it's also available at Boots and Superdrug I believe. It's hands down the best tan that I've ever used. I'm going to do a review on this soon so look out for that.

As for face products, I've used up The Body Shop Vitamin E moisture cream (and repurchased it here) -  it's the best face cream that I've used and I actually need to pick up another one soon as I'm halfway through my new one already.

And finally I've used up Maybelline Big Eyes mascara. I've gone through a lot of these as I find they dry up quickly, but they're so good as extending my lashes and adding curl that I repurchase them anyway. I'll definitely repurchase this.

Finally I can through this lot away and make a new pile for the next empties post!

Have you used up any products recently? What do you always repurchase?

  2. The smell of that LUSH hair mask was too much for me & I had to pass it on, which is a shame as it was a great mask. I think I will have to try another one with a less overpowering scent
