Beauty: Real Techniques Bold Metals Flat Contour Brush

A look at the Real Techniques Bold Metals Flat Contour Brush:

I'm still in shock at how much I paid for this brush considering it's high street and I could have bought high end for almost the same price. I don't have anything like it though and just used some points on my card instead.
The Real Techniques Bold Metals collection looks divine, and if the high price tag wasn't attached to them then I would have the whole collection. Instead I settled for the Flat Contour Brush as it's something that I don't have anything like.

The handle is a gorgeous rose gold colour with the bottom half plastic and the top half metal. The bristles are an ombred light pink which are packed in quite densely meaning the brush is quite heavy.
I used this brush with the Sleek Contour Kit which worked well at picking up product and blending it out.
The brush didn't wow me or anything, and I think it would be better suited to liquid products rather than powder, however it is a nice brush. I like the colour, the softness of the bristles and the finish it gives. I like the whole idea behind these brushes but I don't think I'll be splashing out on a new one any time soon.

I'd say only buy these if you need one, rather than because you want one. They're nice, but in my opinion they're not worth the high price tag.

Have you tried any of the new RT brushes? What do you think of them?

  1. This is the one I was most intrigued by, and the one that I think I'll probably be picking up! I have something slightly similar to it already, but it isn't as dense. It's a shame you weren't bowled over by it, but I think it's something I'd still like to try out - I use a cream contour quite a lot at the moment so hopefully it will work out nicer!

  2. I was surprised to find out the price too, I will probably look into buying the Zoeva contour brush instead. The new RT brushes look pretty but I am not sure they are going to be as popular as their original line.

  3. I really want to give these a go but my bank balance would hate me x

  4. I love this post, the photos are gorgeous & its very honest. I'm not going to get these brushes I think I have some great RT brushes & these just aren't for me. Although the look stunning

  5. This is the first review I have read that isn't made up with them which has surprised me! I do think the price is a bit high but I do want to try some of them! xx

  6. You photos looks amazing in this post! I love Real Techniques but i dont think ill be trying them out anytime soon as i loved the original RT brushes because they're good quality yet still affordable.

    Great post lovely! :)

  7. What a beautiful brush! Really love your photographs too, really captures the details.

  8. I really like the look of the shape of this brush but the price puts me off. Zoeva have a similar one that's cheaper, so I think I will stick to their one!

  9. This is the brush I would buy, if any!
The price is such a shame, as they're such a lovely design.
I do like the look of this one though and wold consider buying it next Payday :)

  10. This is the brush I am after out of the collection! It looks like the perfect shape for a strong contour! Shame they have to be so pricy! :(
