Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great night and aren't too hungover this morning.
Mike and I stayed in as it's our first New Year in our apartment so we thought it would be better to watch films, eat junk food and drink pink champs.
Every new year I set myself some resolutions that I try to follow. Some don't last past the end of January but others I'm managed to keep going for longer (like quit smoking- almost 3 years strong).
This year I've told myself that I will:
Blog every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
I have been trying to do this since June of last year when I started to take more interest in blogging. Sometimes I'll post a day later than I wanted to but I still try to blog four times a week.
Try to eat healthier.
I don't want to lose weight or to drop a dress size, I just want to be healthier. I'm currently really unfit and I get out of breathe just walking up two flights of stairs. I'm too lazy to join a gym so I've decided to start off by eating more fruit and vegetables and cutting down on the sugar and 'bad' carbohydrates like crisps and bread (I eat a LOT of bread).
Pass my driving test.
I've been learning how drive since October and have had one hour per week of learning. My aim is to pass by summer so that I can take my son to nice places int he summer holidays that I wouldn't be able to take him to otherwise.
Cut down on caffeine.
I drink far too much coffee and tea which can't really be doing me any favours. I drink around 15 cups a day and I'm hoping to get that down to around 5 at the most a day. hopefully by the end of the year I'll only be drinking one a week.
Save at least £40 per month.
I cannot save money if my life depended upon it so this year I've decided to set myself something to aim for. If I save at least £40 per month, and hopefully some months more, then I'm going to buy a Mulberry bag at the end of the year.
Take a selfie everyday.
No I'm not vain. I've seen people doing this and thought to myself, damn that is a good idea, but it's always been half way through the year by this point. I want to do it so that I can see how my face (and hair) changes throughout the year.
Do more of what scares me.
Self explanatory really. Scared of going to a meet up on my own - do it. Scared of jumping out of a plane - well I'll think about that one.
There's other things that I want to do, but they're not really resolutions as such, they're just things that I'd like to get done this year. Like do a charity run, or go away for Christmas.
Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR. I wish you all the best for 2014.
Do you have any resolutions? Anything you're looking forward to this year?
