Do you want to use up some of your beauty products? Do you have one beauty product too many? Do you have more beauty products than storage? Well read on to join me in Project Pan!

I was going to start this at the beginning of the year but truth be told, I forgot.
Project Pan is where you chose a few products (some choose 14, others less - it's completely up to you) and your aim is to finish them, or 'hit pan' by the end of the year.
I'm not completely sure where this project originated but I've seen a few beauty bloggers mentioning it, and I thought that it would be a good way for me to use up some of my products.
I haven't chosen a lot, but these products are either products that I bought and have only half used, or products that I bought and have used once or twice.
I thought that if I could make a start on these then I could always add in some products later on.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid is a foundation that I really like, and when I first bought it I spent most of my days with this on my face. Over time however I've started using it less as I was introduced to new foundations and this one kind of got shoved to the back, as it were. I've already started using this more since the start of the year and to remind myself to use it I've added it into my make up bag. I'm currently about half way through this bottle, but I only use 2 pumps every time I use it so It's going to take me a few months to get to the bottom.

The Hydraluron is a product that I picked up after everyone was ranting and raving about it. I used it a few times but it was kept out of sight, and you know what they say, "out of sight, out of mind" - well it's true because I forgot I actually had this. It's now back out and on my bathroom shelf so hopefully I'll use this more. It's about 3/4s full so I still have loads left to use.

REN T-Zone Balancing Day Fluid is, again, a product that I really like and I've just used it less because I've been trying out newer products. This is out on my dressing table now so I won't forget about it again. As you can see I still have a lot left in this but hopefully it'll be used up by the end of the year.

The Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara is again another product that I love but it's been used less and less due to my obsession with the Avon Mega Effects mascara. I should really start placing my products on display so that I will remember to use them more rather than hiding them away where they become forgotten about.

The Rimmel Apocalips is one that needs to be used more, in particular this one which is in the shade 'Celestial'. It's a great dark nude-y colour which goes well with my beloved MAC 'Cosmo'. I actually still use my other Apocalips occasionally but this one I seem to use the least. I'll have to start popping this in my handbag.

When I went to Pro Beauty North I picked up this eye/eyebrow pencil from NYX. I don't actually know why I picked it up as I use my HD Brows kit for my brows and I wear gel liner for my eyes. But I have it and I shall start using it more this year. It is actually a good pencil as it stays on all day and doesn't smudge or fade.

These days I don't wear a lot of eyeshadow but a while ago I did. One eyeshadow that I loved wearing was this MAC 'Club'. It's such a weird colour but I really like creating smokey eyes with it. I don't know about wearing smokey eyes every day for the rest of the year but I could always wear this in my crease and create a more subtle look. We'll see.

And lastly this MAC blush in 'Sincere' is a great blush for every day where but I started using it less and less due to the fact that I became a little obsessed with Benefits Rockateur. In fact I've hardly made a dent in this so I think that this product will be the hardest one to 'hit pan' on as it's the most 'full' of all the products here. Challenge accepted.

What do you think of Project Pan? Will you be trying it?

  1. Great idea, I'm a bit of an out of sight out of mind girl too!

  2. This is such a good idea, I have loads of products that don't get any use because I just stick to the same thing every day! The hydraluron is great :)

  3. That would be so hard to do! I rarely hit pan on anything, eyeshadows especially!

  4. This is a really good idea. I've just decided to start myself on a 100 day spending ban, so I'll have no choice but to hit the pan on my stash! Good luck xx

  5. Such a good idea, I'm forever leaving things half full. I have never used up a full entire eyeshadow so I think that's a mini goal for me :)

  6. rather than trying hard to use a certain number of products up I've just been trying to rotate what I use a little more so unloved stuff gets used eventually :)

  7. I rarely hit pan on anything makeup related other than foundations and powders, I just try and rotate what I use so most things get used at some point during the week :)

  8. This is so funny, I was literally thinking today that I should start a new one of these! "Out of sight out of mind" is so true! This is how my collection has become wild and rampant in taking over my room!

  9. I think I need to take part in this, I seem to have so much stuff at the minute! I love the MAC eyeshadow in club too. It came in a limited edition palette which I hit the pan on two weeks ago, so I reordered one for my palette!
