REVIEW: NYX SHINE KILLER

NYX Shine Killer £12.50 | buy here
Having oily combination skin makes finding the perfect primer really hard (for me anyway). I've tried all the hyped ones, all the high street ones, even high end primers and nothing would keep the make up on my t-zone stay put for more than a few hours.
Whilst attending Professional Beauty North I saw a NYX stand. Having been an NYX 'virgin' I took to twitter to ask for advice. One person tweeted saying to invest in a primer, so I had a look and decided to try this one.
It claims to eliminate oil and shine to leave a matte finish, as well as saying that it can be used alone, under or over make up.
I decided to test all three methods and have come to the conclusion that wearing it on top of make up seems to do the trick the best (not so much of a primer then).
It comes in a matte black tube with white writing which reminds me of a cheap version of Nars. The product itself is a thick clear gel that feels incredibly light on the face. I apply it around my t-zone and it keeps my make up in place, keeps oil and shine at bay and gives me a matte finish from about half seven in the morning until six o'clock at night when I'm getting back in.
I think I've found a new favourite primer, I will definitely be buying more of this in the future!

Have you tried NYX? What's your favourite primer?

  1. Ooohhhh this sounds good, I am the same I have never really found 'the one'. I like the Benefit Porefessional but it is a bit pricey, this seems a decent price. I will have to keep an eye out for one.

  2. This sounds really nice, how well does is work just on it's own? I don't wear face make up apart from powder but have quite oily skin!
