I recently attended an event at Harvey Nichols in Liverpool for the press release of ESPA's new Optimal Skin ProSerum.
I have used ESPA products before after receiving a gift voucher from a FABB Event (see here and here) and I really liked using the products as they felt really luxurious and left my skin feeling wonderful.
When I arrived at the venue with Nafisah and Vicki we were greeted with warm smiles and drinks, and offered skin consultations where we could try out their new product.
They started off by removing my make up and did a whole skin care routine including in their new ProSerum. As this was happening the lovely lady was talking me through my skin, how I can improve it as well as whats really good about it. She also informed me that my skin was really dry and dehydrated as it was just soaking up the ProSerum like no bodies business! This was news to me as I've always seen myself as having oily combination skin. She gave me some great advice so it will be interesting to see if it works out.
Onto the serum. It is an oil based serum, quite like the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery or Esteé Lauder Advanced Night Repair.
It helps brighten and even skin tone, enhance elasticity, firm and protect against premature ageing. It is perfect for all skin types too, as well as using it day and night (unlike the Kiehls and Esteé Lauder ones).
It has a bunch of goodness crammed inside the little 30ml bottle including Tumeric (to enhance radiance and even skin tone), White Lupin (to increase elasticity and skin firmness), Vitamin E and Evening Primrose Oil (to help protect and regenerate skin cells) and Balloon Plant, Rose and Patchouli oils to calm and soothe the skin.
The instructions say to apply it day and night before moisturising but talking to a few people at the event who have tried it before, they all say there's a million and one ways to apply it. For example it can be added to your foundation for a nice dewy look which means that it will be working away all day. It can also be used as a primer too.
I had it on over night after the event, and I kid you not my skin felt so nice and refreshed in the morning.
I have been applying it overnight every night since the event and my skin has just been lapping it up - my skin loves it! It will be interesting to see if it has these effects on my skin in the future, so look out for a full review on it!
The ESPA ProSerum is available for £48 for 30ml
