Dr Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm: REVIEW

Dr Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm £18 | buy here
I've been looking for a BB holy grail for some time, but I just haven't found the one yet. That being said, this is pretty damn close. Dr Jart is originally an asian brand that branched out to the UK, and although the formula of their products is slightly different to their original asian ones, I still think they're pretty good.
I've tried a lot of BB's and most were just tinted moisturisers that didn't last half the day.
This is something different though. This claims to even skin tone, and minimises the apperence of imperfections. The Water Fuse version like the one I have helps to hydrate the skin, as well as being oil free (great for my combo skin) so you're left with a dewy, fresh look.
It claims to minimise the need for foundation and concealer, which is great for summer as it means that you have less product on your face during the heat (it also has sunscreen in, bonus!)
As you can see from the pictures above, it does minimise imperfections such as my freckles. It also eliminates the redness around my nose.
The coverage lasts all day, even in the heat and without a primer! It doesn't leave my skin feeling really heavy as it feels so light and natural. The colour also seems to blend in perfectly with my own skin colour. I'm not left with horrid orange lines, neither am I left looking ashy.
It's a great product if you have combo skin like me. If not, there are other versions of Dr Jart Beauty Balm that even cater to more mature skin.
The only two bad points I can think of is that it does leave a dewy finish (but not the horrid sweaty type look). This may not be an issue for some, but for me, I like a matte finish - nothing a finishing powder can't handle though! The second point is that if you have really dark under eye bags like myself, you'll need a little concealer as the Beauty Balm does cover it, but only a little.
But other than that, it's great! I'm still going to try to find my HG beauty balm, but so far I'm content with this one.
Have you tried Dr Jart before? What do you think?

  2. I had a few samples of this and it was lovely. I don't wear base make up often enough to justify the price.
