#northmeetup

On Sunday 7th April, Em Sheldon of Em Talks hosted a bbloggers meet up in Manchester for the Northern bloggers. 50+ girlies turned up for a fun filled day of beauty talks, cocktails and cake. Initially I was extremely nervous about going as its the first meet up that I've been to, so a few of us decided over twitter to meet up in Victoria station and head to the event at Revolutions on Deansgate Locks together.
The girls I met up with were Francesca of The Mummy Diaries, Zoe Amelia of Amelia's Allsorts, Rachael Claire of Rachael Claire, Megan from Life and Lipsticks, Joanna of Minty Essence and Sabina of Fashernably-Late :)
The event was such a big success, and I'd like to thank Em for organising the event, and to all the companies who came along to give talks.
The talks included Xen-Tan and Glam Glow, Arbonne, Anne Semonin and Blanx as well as Capital FM who took pictures (see here).
I'm really gutted that I didn't take loads of pictures, but I was too busy drinking cocktails ;D

yummy :)

Hello Northern bloggers!

Gift bags and goodies - thanks Em!

I've got enough products here to review for about 6 months! The goodie bags were so heavy! Getting three trains home was a challenge with the bags aha. I'm so glad that I managed to get a spot on the confirmed list of attendees! I met some really great girls too which is always good. I would have felt so lost without meeting up with them beforehand!

Thank you again to Em for such a great day!

Another Haul!

Eek! I went shopping again. Give me money and I really can't help it! As well as whats shown here, I also bought a top and a blazer to wear at the North Meet Up, which I'll be blogging about on Sunday/Monday.
I think I'm going to give my bank card a rest now so expect reviews on these recent purchases soon.

Topshop nail varnishes in 'Parma Violet' and 'Keepin It Sweet', Two for £8
Topshop currently have an offer on their nail varnishes, so I bought these two. These are the two first pastel shades that I own so I'm excited to try them out. Pastels are always good for summer too so heres hoping for some actual sun!

Snoopy cup from Zara Home £5.99
How cute is this? I love Snoopy (I even have a Snoopy tattoo on my back). I originally bought this for my little one, but it's too nice and I didn't want to risk it breaking. I think I'll just use it to put my make up brushes in or something.

Ice Cream Sundae scented candles from Primark £2 and £3.50
I really really really like the little vanilla jar candles from Primark so I have high hopes about these two candles. How nice do they look? I thought that I could keep bits and bobs in them once the candle is all used up. And they also make my flat look a little more summery after the dreaded snow we had last month.

MAC Studio Fix powder (£20.50) and liquid foundation in NC20 (£20.50) and blush in Sincere £17.50
The last time I went to MAC to have a colour match was in August in New York, and back then I was more tanned than I am now. As my current MAC powder is almost finished I though it would be wise to go back to MAC and get an updated skin match. The lovely lady sat me down and asked me what finish I would like and if I'd like to match to my face or my neck as my face is still a little darker than my neck. After I answered her questions, and more, she matched me against two colours, but I decided upon this shade as I think it looks more natural on me. I'm already naturally tanned so I don't need a foundation thats darker than my skin colour or I end up looking like I've been on holiday for too long. She also recommended this MAC blush which is a peachy shade. I'm not a fan of pink cheeks as I don't think they suit me so I went for this subtle blush.

Atlas Watch from Urban Outfitters £26
I've been wanting this watch for ages! I saw it a while ago but I didn't have the money to waste on it, and then when I came back with money it had gone! :(
So when I saw it today, I instantly snapped it up before it disappeared again.

Mini Haul

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. My student loans went in yesterday so I thought I would treat myself to a few things from town. I didn't do a huge shop, I just met my sister for lunch then browsed Boots after. Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on beauty products which I thought would empty my bank account, but I was careful and didn't actually spend too much - yay me!

Revlon Nearly Naked foundation in '150 Nude' £8.99
I have seen many reviews on the Nearly Naked products but hadn't actually gone out and bought any products in the range yet. I currently don't actually use foundation, I just use BB creams or moisturisers with a powder on top as I don't like heavy makeup. This foundation is meant to be light and natural, so lets see how that works out for me. I actually couldn't decide which shade to choose from between this and the 'Natural Beige' shade as they were extremely similar. I'm usually a beige in summer when my skin is a little more dark but at the moment I think my skin is light enough to get away with wearing nude.

Soap & Glory Dr Spot £8.00
Eek! I have a massive spot on my chin, and the bloggers North Meet Up this weekend! (twitter: #northmeetup) I love S&G skincare so I thought I'd invest in this spot treatment in the hope that it works in time. The packet actually says 'helps clear chin spots' so I hope it does as it says!

Maybelline the Colossal Volum' mascara £7.19
My holy grail. Need I say more?

Freedom @ Topshop set of 3 midi rings £6.50
These are the above knuckle rings that people have been obsessing over. I actually had some years ago but misplaced it :(
These rings are a little thick, but theres three shades - gold, rose gold/copper, and silver.

Rimmel Nail Varnish in '440 Sun Downer' £3.69
this is a coral slash orangey colour which I think is perfect for summer. Expect a review on this soon

Have you bought anything recently?
